EDUCATION GRANTS
Each year, the Stockton Earth Day Committee sets aside funds to provide local teachers with mini-grants in memory of Frances Willard Abbott.
An educator, visionary and change-maker, Fran Abbott was a staunch protector of the environment dedicated to mentoring young people throughout San Joaquin County. She lived her life enthusiastically and to its fullest until her passing in 2008. As a tribute to her dedication and tireless efforts, the Stockton Earth Day Festival Organizing Committee initiated this grant program to promote environmental education in schools throughout our community.
