An educator, visionary and change-maker, Fran Abbott was a staunch protector of the environment dedicated to mentoring young people throughout San Joaquin County. She lived her life enthusiastically and to its fullest until her passing in 2008. As a tribute to her dedication and tireless efforts, the Stockton Earth Day Festival Organizing Committee initiated this grant program to promote environmental education in schools throughout our community. THE ABBOTT GRANT AMOUNT: $500.00 per teacher
We are encouraging grade-level or cross-age teachers to team up and work together on projects that are focused on climate change. Each teacher on the team could be granted up to $500.00. Funds shall be used by the teacher to develop environmental education activities in the classroom with a demonstration project as an outcome. Each grantee then presents their class or school project at annual Stockton Earth Day Festival in Victory Park, Stockton, Calif. |
Deadline for applications is February 28, 2023 midnight.
