Topics (but not limited to): Conservation, access to healthy eating, sustainable farming, renewable energy, eliminating single-use containers, reduce/reuse/recycle, sustainable gardening, clean public transportation, healthy community, plant-based meals, composting, biking and walking.
Three finalists will be chosen by the Stockton Earth Day Committee and expected to perform their poems from the stage at 2025 Stockton Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 27. The winning student will receive $100 award, and all finalists will receive a Stockton Earth Day certificate of recognition.

The festival will feature an exhibit of all essays entered in the contest and conclude with an awards ceremony at which time the essay winner will be announced. All contestants will receive a Stockton Earth Day's certificate of recognition. The winner will receive a $100 award.
